Loom Knit Balaclava Hat

The Balaclava aka ski mask and Balaclava Helmet originated in the 19th Century. There are two versions that are made one that has the eyes, nose and mouth open and the second leaving just the front of the face open. It can be rolled up to a hat or folded down as collar for the neck. 

The Balaclava whether knitted or crocheted became an accessory trend in 2020 and continuing the trend this year. 

What fun it was to design the traditional Balaclava for loom knitting. I then designed a second one with a visor on it. They were loom knitted with Lion Brand Pound of Love and using a large gauge loom.
